Your beautiful face could soon be promoting products and services that you have recommended or reviewed through Google advertisements thanks to the launch of “Shared Endorsements“.

If you would prefer your head not showing up in ads across the web you should take the time to opt-out of Google’s Shared Endorsements. Here are the steps.

The first thing you need to do is visit the Shared Endorsements settings page. Scroll down to the very bottom of this page and you will see a section with a check box that reads:

Based upon my activity, Google may show my name and profile photo in shared endorsements that appear in ads.

Then you will be asked if you are sure about doing this because “your friends will be less likely to benefit from your recommendations…”
Finally, click the “Continue” button to be free from the Shared Endorsements program.

It’s not too hard to get your face out of this new advertising development, so spread the word to your friends on Facebook and Twitter by using the share buttons below.

Your friends will be more likely to benefit from your recommendation to opt out than if you do not share 🙂
